The Weight of Passing From the Stillness of Motion series
In The Weight of Passing, movement becomes residue—a sweeping passage of pale pigment crossing a dense, dark ground, suspended between emergence and disappearance.
Layers of ivory, ash, charcoal and muted earth tones create a tension between density and release. Descending drips and textured marks evoke gravity, erosion and the passage of time, preserving traces of gestures that have already vanished.
Continuing the inquiry of Stillness of Motion, the painting explores the threshold between presence and absence, where light and darkness exist in quiet interdependence. Stillness becomes not the absence of movement, but the enduring mark it leaves behind.
