Threshold II continues the Threshold series, deepening its exploration of the fragile space between architecture and memory. Built through successive layers of plaster, mineral pigment, sand and acrylic, the surface is worked through excavation as much as construction. Weathered greys, limestone whites and traces of earth-toned gold evoke walls altered by time, while a solitary recessed opening interrupts the composition like a fragment uncovered rather than created. The surrounding field carries the quiet weight of erosion, revealing histories that remain only in traces.

Rather than depicting a specific place, this work inhabits the threshold between presence and absence, where architecture becomes memory and material becomes evidence. The small illuminated opening offers no destination; instead, it suggests a moment of passage, an invitation to pause before what cannot be fully entered or explained. Gold appears sparingly, not as ornament but as the residue of light.
