Vestige V – Residue

Vestige V – Residue concludes the Vestige series with a reflection on what remains after time has reshaped the landscape. Through layered applications of acrylic and mixed media, the painting develops a richly textured surface where traces of earlier marks emerge beneath subsequent layers, creating depth and quiet complexity.

A restrained palette of mineral whites, deep greens, charcoal and subtle metallic gold balances geometric form with open space, suggesting the enduring presence of structures gradually absorbed into their surroundings. The composition is intentionally reduced, allowing texture, proportion and light to define the work's atmosphere.

Rather than describing a specific place, Vestige V – Residue explores the quiet persistence of memory and material. It reflects an interest in permanence, transformation and the subtle marks that remain long after the moment has passed.
